Welcome to CNY Mesh!

The CNY Mesh Network is a nonprofit wireless community to develop, use and promote wireless broadband network around Central (upstate) New York. The wireless network is implemented with IEEE802.11a/b/g/n technology, using equipment from various manufacturers, with dynamic routing protocols.

The primary operation is done in the non-licensed ISM frequency band 2.4GHz & 5.8GHz. We also are working to develop an disaster preparedness system that will use those same frequencies, but under license.

Seeing how we’ve just started, we only have a few active nodes and only cover a small geographical area, but we are motivated by our volunteer members & the spirit of the community to continue development & expansion.
